FAQ

The 4x4 Ultra HD Switch is an HDMI matrix designed for the transmission and switching of high-resolution HDMI digital audio and video signals from computers. It allows for the arbitrary selection of multiple input signals to be output to one or multiple display devices. Equipped with RS232 and RJ45 communication interfaces, it facilitates the use with central control and WEB control systems.

Q: What is an AV Matrix Switcher, and how does it differ from a traditional AV switcher?

A: An AV Matrix Switcher is a centralized device that enables simultaneous, independent routing of multiple audio-visual inputs (e.g., PCs, game consoles, streaming devices) to multiple outputs (e.g., TVs, monitors, speakers). Unlike a traditional AV switcher (which only connects one input to one output at a time), a matrix switcher supports multiple concurrent connections—for example, a home could stream a movie to the living room TV while the bedroom TV plays a game console, all controlled from a single matrix. Its key advantage is flexibility: it eliminates the need for manual cable swapping and lets users access different content on different devices simultaneously.

Q: What signal types and technical specifications should I prioritize when selecting an AV Matrix Switcher for a professional studio or live event?

A: For professional environments (studios, live events, broadcast), focus on these critical specs:

Signal Compatibility: Ensure support for HDMI 2.1 (4K@120Hz/8K@30Hz), DisplayPort 2.0, USB-C (for laptops/phones), and balanced audio (XLR) to handle high-fidelity sound.

Resolution & Refresh Rate: Look for 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 (full chroma) or 8K@30Hz for crisp visuals; high-end models may offer 4K@120Hz for fast-moving content (e.g., sports, gaming).

HDCP & DRM: Must include HDCP 2.3 or higher to avoid copy-protection errors with streaming services (e.g., Apple TV 4K) or broadcast content.

Latency: Choose a matrix with <1ms latency for live events (e.g., concerts, presentations) where real-time signal transmission is critical.
